Vapor mirror feedback
audiovisual installation, 2025

Interactive audiovisual installation based on geostationary weather satellite imagery for 1 screen, 2 speakers, and a 16-knob MIDI controller.

Participants’ knob-turns apply kaleidoscopic transformations to atmospheric flows at various visible and sub-visible frequencies. A generative audio synth follows users’ explorations, accenting moments of higher activity or glossing contemplative lulls. Exhibited at Lafayette Electronic Arts Festival (LEAF) 2025 and subsequently in various DIY happenings around Denver. Created in collaboration with Oakland-based Ricky Covell.
